Apprenticeship Highlights:
Consortium
The Teacher Apprenticeship Consortium convenes bimonthly to create the industry standard for the Oregon teacher apprenticeship model. The consortium is made up of members representing eleven Oregon education partners and works closely with a BOLI Apprenticeship Representative and TSPC to ensure that the newly developed framework meets adopted rules and standards.
Collaborative
Partnerships
To support the creation of the Oregon Registered Teaching Apprenticeship model, the Teacher Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC) works with a wide range of educational partners to design the framework for the industry standard.
Bureau of Labor & Industries
The Bureau of Labor & Industries (BOLI) registers and supports apprenticeship programs to build Oregon's workforce and increase access to jobs. Their expertise is fundamental to creating a registered teaching apprenticeship. You can learn more about their work by clicking on the image below.
Oregon Teacher Standards and Practices Commission
Although TSPC oversees the profession's rules, standards, and licensure, collecting feedback in this critical work is essential. Therefore, TSPC and BOLI are collaborating with state partners to develop the Apprenticeship in Teaching that will expand current Grow Your Own pathways to licensure while supporting Oregon's recruitment and retention efforts and broadening opportunities for strong partnerships.
